Welcome to the Apache Sunset website. This is the only official website dedicated to the novel Apache Sunset. I ought to know. I’m the guy that wrote the book.

People say the western is dead. I don’t believe it. I think Americans always like a good western story, whether it’s in the form of a movie or a book like Apache Sunset

The western touches us. It resonates with us. It is a uniquely American form of story telling. We use it to express ideals that, while not exclusively American, are typically so.

The western has been called the ultimate morality play. I think that is an apt description. Maybe that’s the appeal of a good western, its ability to show good and evil doing battle in simple terms. Our society has become very complicated. The western takes us back to a simpler time in our history.

Let me tell you about Apache Sunset.  It takes place in 1874 Arizona, a harsh time in a harsh land. Trace Reilly, our hero, gets caught up in events beyond his control as the conflict between the Apache Indians and the U.S. Cavalry heats up to the boiling point. The only question is how long it will take for the lid to blow off. As the story unfolds Trace faces numerous challenges such as confronting a previous commanding officer that tried to ruin his life, protecting a spoiled U.S. Senator’s daughter and surviving while being marked for death by the fearsome Apache war chief Red Wolf. Trace will need all his skills and a lot of luck to prevail as he reacts to one deadly crisis after another.  Anyone that likes a traditional western with strong, likable characters and lots of action should enjoy Apache Sunset.

I wrote this book from the perspective of a reader, not an author. Let me explain. The western has always been my favorite type of book to read. I wrote Apache Sunset as a guy who knows what should be in a good western and what shouldn’t be in one. I hope I’ve been successful at that. I’m sure my readers will answer that question for me.

This website is for anything and everything about Apache Sunset. You can find out about the book here. You can comment on or ask questions about the book by sending me an e-mail. You can buy the book and Apache Sunset accessories here.
